About the Comfort Book Club

The Comfort Book Club is a lovely community for those who enjoy cosy chats about books. Each month, my mum Donna joins me for a discussion of our book of the month on my YouTube channel. Cup of tea in hand, we share what we find both comforting and thought-provoking about the reads we choose.

The Comfort Book Club is free (I consider it a gift to my YouTube subscribers) and there is no official joining process; anyone who subscribes to my YouTube channel is welcome to read along with us each month.

Miranda and Donna’s carefully selected titles have allowed me to discover new authors that would have previously been overlooked, particularly those who have written children’s literature or books set in the interwar years. I have even felt the revisiting of beloved favourites whether it be Georgette Heyer or Jane Austen, has given me newfound appreciation of the text and discoveries that I never thought of before. • The CBC made me realise I enjoy having a bit of structure in my life. Planning what I will read exactly this month never works with me as I tend to follow impulses and let the books find their way to me as well as making sure I have many waiting for their time to be picked. However, I loved having almost like a curriculum to follow too and I’m happily following it because, after years of watching your videos, you have my trust….There is also an element of pleasant anticipation and surprise with the CBC when I’m looking forward to you announcing the future book club choices. — Anna
